Financial Assistance

P.I.T. comprehends that your learning today is an investment in tomorrow. You will be assisted by our Financial Aid Staff who will work out your monetary requirements and plan that future to suit all your needs. PIT provides a broad array of scholarships and tuition assistance to eligible students, including government grants and loans. Our main mission is to collaborate with pupils to create a program that will propel them on the road to successful and fulfilling employment.

Handily situated on Manchester Avenue in Media, Pennsylvania, P.I.T. is only minutes away from the Baltimore Pike. The college can be simply accessed by auto or public transit, and is convenient to a number of train and bus routes.

The Pennsylvania Institute of Technology happily launched its newest location in Philadelphia's historic downtown area. Situated at the corner of 6th & Walnut, the Curtis Center is only a couple blocks from the historic Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Center City's learning facility is convenient by auto or mass transit, located in walking range of:

Architectural/Civil Engineering Technology AAS

Design and construction of edifices demand experts familiar with the entire project and its unique factors. The Architectural/Civil Engineering Technology (ACT) course of study instructs pupils in the fundamentals of this complicated industry.

Pupils are educated in this industry via classes in architectural and structural design and construction technology. CAD, needed materials and how to use them and building codes are stressed in our curriculum. Advanced classes offer opportunities for solving complicated technical dilemmas. Among the basic elements in this course of study are math, physics and applied sciences, project leadership, and fundamental communication skills.

Pupils will acquire specific expertise in either architectural or structural design, or engineering in construction. Grads are eligible for entry-level jobs in architectural/civil as well as construction engineering technology, among them designers or drafters, CAD experts, estimators, surveyors, and in sales.

Graduates of the Architectural / Civil Engineering Technology program can prepare freehand 3D sketches.

  • Drawing measured diagrams of existing structures.
  • Finish a set of architectural or structural sketches, comprised of blueprints, elevations, and details utilizing CAD applications.
  • Read and analyze architectural, structural and location plans exhibiting familiarity with codes and methods.
  • Do inspections in the field.
  • Operate surveying equipment to perform basic construction tasks.
  • For example, you will create a "free-body" layout of a complete or partial structure.
  • Exhibit familiarity with governmental standards and safety regulations, among them those set by the ADA, Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Construct a 3 dimensional wire framework using CAD.
