6 Ugliest Things in the World
The world is an ugly, ugly place. Sure, there are plenty of ugly animals, ugly people, and certainly ugly realities like war and health epidemics on the loose, but there are also some things out there that are blights on your everyday world and just make you want to cover your eyes from the sight: all the ugly cars, ugly buildings, and other nonsense that litter the public space with their misguided aesthetics. So here's a partial list with the 6 ugliest things in the world that you just can’t seem to escape. Cover your eyes now!
Dogs in sweaters
If you were a dog, would you want to run around in some dumb-ass sweater? I thought not.
No matter what your neighbors may say about the "innate cuteness" of their dog in a sweater, this is bullshit. Listen to your gut: it's just sadistic. Dogs in sweaters are a case of canine humiliation, pure and simple.
Look at it! Is this an off-road vehicle or a souped-up hearse? Gas mileage and environmental concerns aside, the Hummer is an ugly scourge on the roads and highways.
Honestly, the regular Hummer is bad enough, but the people who feel the need to own a pink Hummer or rent a stretch Hummer for a party are particularly sick individuals.
Websites with moving, flashing things
We've all seen it. Website owners who really want you to notice something, or an advertiser who really wants you to click on their ad, will resort to moving, flashing pictures, images, or text that make you think you're having an epileptic seizure. Yes, they are bringing attention to whatever they think is worthy of your attention – yet really isn't – but what they are really achieving is pissing a lot of people off, including yours truly, by their ugly tactics and even uglier graphics.
The Pompidou Centre in Paris
Maybe you don't live in Paris, but I'm betting that a lot of people out there will – willingly or not – be faced with this monstrosity of a building at least once in their lifetime. And it ain't going to be pretty. You would think that in Paris, and at a celebrated arts complex at that, you would be spared from such brutality, but the design just makes your eyeballs hurt. So don't say I didn't warn you.
This car may be environmentally friendly (although since it is a car, is that an oxymoron?), but does the Prius have to look so darn dopey? Is it a robotic cloud or is it a car? Oh why can't Toyota just make up its mind?
Sure, bridesmaids dresses have gotten a lot of flak over the years, but there's a good reason for that. Yes, it could all simply be a misunderstanding because of the unfortunate choices of a few brides, but this is not really so. The sole purpose of bridesmaids dresses is to make sure that the bride looks better than you. And that's a pretty ugly fact.
The world is an ugly, ugly place.
