Seven Wonders of the Medieval World

The Seven Wonders of the Medieval World is not a list of the wonders built during medieval times, it is a list of the wonders the people of the age may have considered to be wonders.

The list of the Seven Wonders of the Medieval World includes wonders both old and new for the time. However, all the wonders were in existence between the 5th and 15th centuries, whether or not they were known at the time as in the case of the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa.

Unlike the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Seven Wonders of the Medieval World goes beyond the geographic area of the eastern Mediterranean basin and extends to such treasures as the Great Wall of China and the Porcelain Tower of Nanjing.
