Retail Management

Whether your ultimate goal is to run a small department, manage an entire store, or even to work at corporate headquarters, our program will qualify you for career success in the rapidly-growing retail industry. You will learn staffing, store set-up, and how to deal with vendors in your first lessons. The next step will be courses in customer service, planning for growth, making buying decisions, and selecting locations. Then you will learn human resource and information systems management skills, as well as learning to choose merchandise, set prices, initiate sales strategies, control expenses, manage inventory and much more.

There are 11 lessons in the Retail Management Course. They are challenging and stimulating, yet still relatively easy to follow. Each lesson starts off with a preview of future subject matter, instructor notes, and a vocabulary builder for your field.

You will then have a reading assignment. You will perform exercises to practice and review what you have learned in class. There will be an online open-book exam when your lessons are complete.

Fashion Retailing

Intro to Photography

In overview, the artistic and technical aspects of photography are covered in this wide-ranging, hands-on course. As a student participating in our program, you will begin with some of the basics, such as the components of the camera and how to utilize and choose lenses, exposure, aperture, focusing and how to do it right. You will then move on to learning properties of color, principles of lighting, composition techniques, as well as the use of filters. You will be confident in the darkroom with having gained the essential skills for developing film and making prints. Also, you will learn of exciting new ways to approach digital photography.

Thirteen complete lessons comprise the Introduction to Photography Course. The lessons are easy to follow and will keep you on your toes. Each lesson will include a subject matter preview along with any objectives, an introductory note from your instructor and finally a vocabulary builder of new words and terms. Once received, you, the student should be prepared to begin the reading assignment. We recommend that you check and review what you've learned through practice exercises. An open-book exam ends the lesson, and it can be taken online.

Photography is both a creative art and a challenging science, so our lessons include information about the Camera, how to operate the camera, how to shoot for composition, how to develop film, printmaking, lighting, filters, accessories, the fundamentals of color photography, capturing digital images, digital color photography, digital darkroom as well as ethics and the law.
