AutoCAD Fundamentals

This is a 40-hour course available in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This program trains the student with hands-on knowledge of basic AutoCAD commands required to create, edit and plot a drawing. Covered in this course are the fundamental concepts of creating, editing, dimensioning, viewing, managing and plotting two-dimensional drawings.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed to bring the drafter, designer, engineer or a beginner to a productive level of experience. For individuals with no previous CAD experience, this course draws from all design disciplines and is meant for those who edit, view or work with others to create design content.

Prerequisites

No previous CAD experience is required for the program, however drafting, design or engineering experience is helpful. Applicants should also have some experience with Windows-based operating systems.

Objectives

The successful completion of this course empowers you to confidently create, edit, manipulate, analyze, manage, dimension, and plot production 2D drawings.

Advanced AutoCad

Program Summary:

This 40-hour training course is offered in NJ and PA, and includes additional commands, concepts and techniques not covered in the AutoCad fundamentals course. The progression of this course emphasizes increased production using newly acquired tools and 3D design techniques, not to mention the refining current techniques. It is designed for the drafter, designer, engineer, or user who already has three months of experience using AutoCAD or has earlier undergone training in the AutoCAD Fundamentals course. This hands-on training primarily focuses on intermediate to advanced AutoCAD concepts and commands to help students use AutoCAD more productively.

The candidates qualified to attend this course are drafters, designers, engineers or experienced users who will then gain greater experience and achieve higher productivity. This course is suitable for anyone in the design disciplines or those who edit, view or work with people who are in the design profession.

Program Prerequisites:

Applicants must have completed the AutoCAD Fundamentals program or have three months of experience using AutoCAD.

CAD Drafting Technolog. 825-hour Certificate Program

Drafters and designers learn to prepare technical drawings and plans used by production and construction workers to build everything from manufactured products to structures. They create the visual guidelines, specifying the technical details of the products and structures to be built. They determine the dimensions, materials, and procedures to be followed.

Everything around you had to be conceived on the drawing board. Because of this, there will always be plenty of CAD-related careers. In order to ensure that those with the right skills will be in demand, advances in computer drafting technology are offered.

Objective:

To train students to achieve the position of entry-level CAD drafter and enable them to gain entry in any of the architectural, civil, or mechanical industries. The program will provide skills and knowledge in the various areas of drafting with an emphasis in computer-aided design. Graduates will have the skills to seek employment assisting architects or civil engineers in the design of residential and commercial structures or to aid mechanical engineers in creating designs for various types of equipment.

Architectural Desktop

This 24-hour course is intended to assist you to quickly develop effective and accurate building projects using Autodesk® Architectural Desktop. This course is designed for those such as a drafters, designers, engineers, architects or others who are already familiar with AutoCAD commands. This class will instruct students on the creation of walls, doors, and windows, roofs, stairs and railings.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed to bring the experienced drafter, designer, architect, engineer or experienced AutoCAD user to higher level of production and improve their experience using Architectural Desktop. This course is appropriate for those working in architectural, facilities, or interior design, and for individuals who work with those in the design field.

Upon finishing the course, you'll be able to create, edit, and manipulate AEC objects with confidence.

The instructors of SolidWorks are highly skilled professionals with vast experience in teaching and industrial experience.

The SolidWorks training offered by CDM includes short classes and longer programs.

There are tuition grants up to $5000 available if one is unemployed.

SolidWorks Fundamentals - 36 hours

The objective of this 24 hour program is to teach the student how to use the SolidWorks mechanical design automation software to construct parametric models of parts and assemblies and how to create drawings of those parts and assemblies. In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of SolidWorks.

A training course in The SolidWorks fundamentals is primarily formulated for the execution of industrial or mechanical design and professionals need to attend such courses.

Program Prerequisites:

Student in the course are expected to be prepared with the following:

  • Experience in Mechanical Design
  • The student studying the course should know Windows operating system.
  • Make sure that you have gone through your software and completed the SolidWorks 2001 Getting Started tutorial.

Objectives

This course will teach you basic part modeling, modeling a casting or forging, revolved features and circular patterns, Thin walled parts, Configuration of parts, Bottom-up assembly modeling, Detailing, Editing options, Drawing views and dimensions.
