Movies go beyond filming. There is an increasing demand for computers, in which bits of the movie will be in codes. Our Visual Effects/Animation program will help students succeed in this new and exciting world of digital cinematography. The techniques of creating live elements such as 2D and 3D animations, in addition to other composited visual effects, are taught to students as a stepping-stone to expand skill-sets. These are important skills for a visual effects supervisor who has a general knowledge of visual effects. With this, a person will have a broad education and will not be limited to only one specialty.

Stop Motion Animation courses teach students to create animation with models and objects while using film stop motion methods on a Bolex camera. The series of weekly practical stop motion exercises that are followed in the class, consist of character/model construction, miniature set building, camera movements and miniature lighting. Required for completion of a short stop motion animation project are preplanning and storyboard development.
