Keystone Technical Institute's mission is to provide an education that is useful, matching the goals of the student's career with the employer's requirements in the student's chosen field. To achieve this objective, the institute, relying upon a capable and devoted teaching staff along with an organized and dynamic curriculum, guarantees its students will receive the fundamentals they require to fulfill their career potential. The institute, with a continuing curriculum assessment process and constant advice from institute graduates, the Advisory Committee, and employers, stays in touch with the technologies students need to join the working world.

Keystone Technical Institute has cultivated an environment designed to achieve the mission of providing students a practical hands-on experience, thus fostering a workplace atmosphere. Founded in October 1980, KTI received institutional accreditation by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and the National Association of Trade and Technical Schools in 1983. The Accrediting Commission for Trade and Technical Schools of the Career College of Health Education Schools and Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (which used to be called the Accrediting Commission for Trade and Technical Schools of the Career College Association) extended the school's accreditation into 2001.

Keystone Technical Institute aims to teach skills to those without them, refine the skills of the semi-skilled, and help graduates find work in the field in which they have studied.

Academic programs have been created to offer students marketable skills and knowledge that will help them to develop and fulfill their career potential down the road. The Career Placement Assistance service helps KTI as it fulfills its mission to offer a necessary and invaluable service to the business world, the community at large, the country, and above all, their student body.
