Certificates and Degrees Fashion: A.S. Degree and Certificates of Competence and Completion
The fashion curriculum trains students for careers in merchandising, design or production and enhances employment prospects for those already in positions.
Once the student meets the degree or certificate requirements, students become proficient in all aspects of fashion, including clothing analysis, design, pattern making, draping, fashion illustration, manufacturing, and using computer-aided fashion design software.
Upon completing the merchandising option, the degree or certificate program, students will gain additional proficiency in presentation techniques, planning, promotion, fashion coordination, advertising and sales.
Skills are assessed using exhibitions and portfolios of original design and garments. Students will be prepared to become a fashion assistant, stylist, beginning pattern maker, merchandiser assistant, sales person, costume designer, or quality control helper.
