Olivet Nazarene University
The department of Family and Consumer Sciences offers several majors. These include Dietetics, Fashion Merchandising, Housing and Environmental Design, Family and Consumer Sciences, Child Development, and Teaching Family and Consumer Sciences.
Each area of specialization prepares graduates to pursue professional careers in Family and Consumer Sciences in such fields as education, business, extension services, research, communications, social welfare, public health, international service, and careers in a variety of other agencies, organizations and institutions.
Highlights
- Textiles lab includes more than 20 new electronic sewing machines, four embroidery machines and two sergers
- Food lab contains six kitchens with modern kitchen equipment and appliances
- Design library filled with fabric, furniture books, paint card, carpet, wallpaper, laminates and other samples
- Computer lab equipped with AUTO CAD
- Internships with companies including: Ethan Allen, Limited Brands, and National City Bank
