Apparel Merchandising and Design Major, Apparel Design Concentration
Students wishing to pursue careers in the apparel and textile industries will be well prepared by the apparel merchandising and design program at CMU. Making the CMU program successful is the coursework and hands-on opportunities provided to students. Along with the ability for students to access our topnotch facilities, all of which are equipped with computer-aided design laboratories, textile testing labs, and apparel production laboratories.
We are proud to say that we are ahead of other leading schools here in Michigan, in that we are the only school that can custom design clothing due to our body scanner. Also, we are the only school in the state that can actually test clothing in a climate controlled area since we have a environmental chamber.
Students are provided the opportunity to receive credits from many institutions, three of which are the leading schools:
- New York City's Fashion Institute of Technology
- American College in London
- Paris American Academy
Students will learn from the best. Our faculty is comprised of experienced workers in the field that now devote their time to teach.
