Fashion Technology Associate in Applied Science Degree
With the Fashion Technology Associate in Applied Science Degree the attending students will prepare for advancement in product lines/brands along will learning to manage promotional campaigns at the wholesale level to promote retailer interest, wholesale buying. The students will also gain the ability to supply contacts and perform tasks connected to the distribution and sale of apparel and accessories, including instruction in wholesaling, wholesale advertising, selling and customer service, retail, apparel technologies, distribution, customer sales and service skills, along with the principles of consumer research and sales forecasting.
Fashion Technology Certificate of Achievement Merchandise
Students earning an A.A.S. degree have the choice to embark on their career or transfer to a four-year college or university upon completion. Commercial displays, like the ones in shop windows and retail store interiors, and those that are seen at trade shows, are designed and set-up by Fashion Technology Certificate of Achievement Merchandise displayers, also known as visual merchandisers. Work on building exteriors involves the production of major store decorations and could include both building and window displays as well as spot lighting.
The program is designed to create the opportunity for those desiring to create designs for store interiors outfit departments in stores, arrange table displays, and dress up mannequins. In large chains, retail store layout design is usually produced at the corporation's central design department. Designs are distributed by e-mail to individual stores, downloaded to computers equipped with the appropriate design software, and adapted to meet individual store size and dimension requirements to retain the chain's visual identity and to ensure that in each store a particular image or theme is promoted.
Fashion Technology Certificate of Completion:
This program trains individuals to apply artistic principles and techniques to the process of merchandising of commercial fashions, apparel, and accessories, and the management of projects in the field of Fashion Development. Students receive instruction in the design of apparel and accessories; the design of men's, women's and children's wear; computer assisted design and manufacturing; concept planning; fabric art and printing; designing specific materials; labor cost and analysis; and the basic principles of management and operations in the fashion industry.
Apparel Production Certificate of Completion:
Since the Fall of 2006, the Apparel Production Certificate of Completion will be The Apparel Production program for fashion related industries focuses on the design elements, development, and production of textile products and related processes and systems. Instruction in commercial sewing, planning, estimating, and production processes, aesthetic and functional design, and quality assessment is included. Students can have practical experience with every area related to fashion production through this supervised internship. Having certification will help students find entry-level jobs in the textile and fashion industries, or they can transfer to four-year colleges in order to further their education.
