Fashion Merchandising/Design (Tech-Prep) (2 years / 900 hours):
Focus on retail sales skills, design, and visual display creation techniques. Second year students are afforded the chance to participate in experience building work study programs. Through a Tech Prep agreement with Brookdale Community College in Merchandising and Burlington County College in Design, students have the opportunity to earn college credits. The Ocean County Vocational Technical Schools have designed these individualized programs especially to prepare the student on the way to an exciting career. It is important that the individual chooses a program that meets their needs and suits his or her abilities and interests, to maximize the chances of success in vocational school.
When the student selects the preferred courses, he should keep in mind that the mission of the district is to give students the skills and knowledge they need for job placement or more education that will lead to a better job. Ocean County Vocational Technical Schools provide the area's citizens with an environment where they can learn the knowledge, skills, and values that will help them contribute to the community. We don't just provide students with the required skills, but also with the critical thinking skills, desire to perform well, and good character and citizenship necessary for success.
