In the business program graduates are generally prepared for careers in fashion buying and fashion merchandising. Those careers in the fashion buying and fashion merchandising fields are Business, Fashion Buying, and Merchandising. Skill Requirements: A unique energy, creativity, pace, and the love of a challenge are traits shared by those in the fashion industry. You must be energetic, flexible, personable and professional, generally speaking. You should possess stellar communication skills, be able to handle constant changes, and be willing to work with a schedule that is flexible. Of the utmost importance is having a friendly personality along with good manners. While past experience in the retail industry will aid the student, it is not mandatory. The work's nature is showrooms, wholesale and retail environments, display, etc. Many entry-level positions in the fashion industry, including fashion buying and merchandising will be an option for Job Outlook Graduates. Students completing the program find employment in retailing, retail management, distribution, buying, sales, advertising, and public relations within the fashion industry.
