The Merchandising:
The purpose of the Fashion and Interiors major is allow to all graduates the opportunity to begin immediate work in their chosen career in which they may pick from a large diversity of careers within the fashion and interiors industries. The graduates of this program may find employment in the fields of marketing, manufacturing and retail of furnishings, accessories, apparel and personal care products. As well as supporting academic courses in economics, communication, computers and sciences, students complete an interdisciplinary program of courses in merchandising, human ecology and business. Students have a choice in a concentrated study in either Fashion or Interiors. With the exception of students in the visiting program, students will be allowed to earn a Marketing minor at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Fashion Institute of Technology:
The Fashion Institute of Technology, one of New York City's state universities, offers a fantastic visiting student program, which allows students to pursue a one-year study in any of the following areas:
- Accessories Design
- Marketing Communications
- Fashion Design
- Ad Design
- Fashion Merchandising
- Interior Design
- Apparel Production Management
- Textile Design
- Development
- Marketing
- Jewelry Design
The FIT program is open to students who successfully finish 60 semester hours and complete specific course requirements at YSU.
Students will be awarded an Associate degree in Applied Sciences (A.A.S.) from the Fashion Institute of Technology, upon completion of the Baccalaureate degree in Applied Sciences (B.S.A.S.) requirements at YSU.
