The course in The Bachelor of Science in Fashion Industry Management is specifically formed to educate people in Fashion Industry Management. The basics of business, including accounting, economics, marketing, finance, and management are combined with the textile and apparel courses in the curriculum. The students learn the application of computers in information retrieval as well as every thing from the manufacture of fiber to the final apparel product, which includes the integrated apparel manufacture and design. Graduates gain the esteem of employers who are conversant with the University's expert skill as relates to management of the fashion trade. Program highlights include using computer-aided design and manufacturing methods that are on the cutting edge. Robotization and high-speed integrated manufacturing techniques are some of the lasted technological developments being studied.

Students can earn a four year BS degree in Fashion Industry Management, a five year BS/MS Fashion Apparel Studies degree, or a combination BS/MS.

By taking part in the Study Abroad Program, held during the students' third year of study, Fashion Design students will receive the chance to incorporate an international dimension to their education. While broadening their design skills, which enables them to strengthen their competitive edge in the global marketplace, the students studying overseas gain a cross-cultural experience. The students also have the opportunity to select to participate in the Internships Program created to improve their education while acquiring job experience.

Graduates of the Fashion Design program may work either as fashion design assistants who work under the direction of a designer, or as fashion adapters, those who modify trend-setting designs to suit the requirements of the typical customer.

Fashion merchandising is a major part of the fun, exciting fashion world, and it also is a major part of retailing. The merchandiser has the responsibility for the understanding of the demands and needs of the consumer. The needs of consumers are determined by the way they live and their environmental changes. To ensure that a store has a proper amount of goods, a merchandiser will be responsible for selecting and procuring merchandise from all around the world.

Merchandisers rely on a great deal of technology in order to predict future fashion needs, have the right merchandise available at the right time, and maintain a well-balanced inventory. Retailing, merchandising, marketing, and management are all part of the fashion merchandising major.

Fashion trends, design, the uses of various fabrics, and the manufacturing of garments are the topics studied. Merchandising careers include product developers, merchandise planners and managers, department managers, fashion coordinators and buyers.
