The Fashion Design Program is carefully organized to prepare students for jobs in fashion related fields. Studies in the fashion design program provide the skills necessary to obtain a job in the fashion production industry.
The Apparel Construction Marketable Skills Achievement Award helps students acquire the skills that will be used in the garment industry. All courses included in this certificate may apply to the AAS degree.
The Custom Dressmaking and Alterations Certificate Program allows students to begin entry-level work in alterations for women's clothing, custom dressmaking, and designer's sample sewing. All courses included in this certificate may apply to the AAS degree.
The Tailoring and Alterations Certificate Program allows students the ability to gain entry-level positions in men's clothing alterations and custom tailoring. All courses included in this certificate may apply to the AAS degree.
The Pattern-Making Certificate Program helps students gain the skills to work in the pattern-making industry. All courses included in this certificate may apply to the AAS degree.
Fashion Merchandising
The curriculum in Fashion Merchandising allows students to learn basic manufacturing techniques and creative development so that they can be better prepared for jobs in wholesale or fashion retailing. Every course within the Fashion Merchandising Certificate program can also be applied to the AAS degree.
Fashion sales associate:
The student aspiring for entry-level work in retail fashion sales for a small boutique or large department store need prepare by pursuing the Fashion Sales Associate Marketable Skills Achievement Award program.
Fashion Image Consultant:
This certificate program focuses the students' development of personal style and prepares them to advise others on color combinations, line, good design, classic silhouettes and complete wardrobe enhancement. Every course required for the certificate is also required to earn the Fashion Merchandising degree.
