Edmonds Community College

Students who desire qualification to obtain an entry-level position in design or retail sales can enroll in the short-term program leading to the Fashion/Retail Merchandising Certificate. In order to help students choose which courses will aid them in achieving their educational and career goals, they are required by the certificate to work in coordination with a Business Management Advisor. This certificate's courses may be used for the Business Management Department's Associate of Technical Arts Degree. A great deal of the courses are readily found online. Consult the quarterly class schedule. A minimum of 35 credits is required for a successful completion of this Certificate.

Edmonds Community College requires a minimum of 30 credits, or one-third of the required credits. The minimum cumulative grade point average required in all college-level courses for all students is 2.0. We strongly encourage students to:

  • Accommodate courses that are offered less than twice a year. You should plan your schedule several quarters in advance.
  • Be aware of the college catalog to know the required course prerequisites for planning your schedule.
  • Talk to an advisor who is a faculty member.
