Pierce College at Fort Steilacoom

Associate in Business professional/technical

Pierce College, located at Fort Steilacom, provides the Associate in Business professional/technical program, which is tailored to prepare students for a career in the field of business. Most of the offered courses will allow students an opportunity to participate in field trips and talks from industry professionals as well as provide students with personally challenging assignments and activities focusing on management-related topics.

Fashion Merchandising Certificate

Five different specialties allow you to direct your coursework toward your preferred specialty. Students are exposed to fashion design and textiles, creative sales, retailing, and merchandising techniques through the Fashion Merchandising Certificate program.

Field trips, guest industry speakers, and projects that involve students in their knowledge and assignments that require individual motivation in management-related projects are included in many of the courses. Because the certificate program encompasses classes also needed for the Associate in Business degree, students can earn the certificate, get a job in the field, and continue their studies to improve skills and increase eligibility for promotion. Students completing the Fashion Merchandising Certificate are prepared to seek entry-level employment in such areas as Window Dressing, Merchandise Display, Sales, Marketing Assistant, and Management Trainee.
