The West Valley College Fashion Design Program is recognized as an industry leader in computer technology training pertaining to apparel design and manufacturing. The school's computer labs are completely equipped, and offer students practical experience in using the same computer systems that are available to professionals working in the fashion industry. Using the Gerber Technology (GT) "Accumark" System for computer-aided pattern making, grading and marking, we are the largest educational facility in North America. Manufacturers throughout the world use this system.
West Valley College Fashion Design graduates gain a leading edge in the ever-changing job market by keeping up with the latest technology currently used in the industry.
The Fashion Design Program is more affordable than comparable programs at other top design institutes. This is because West Valley College is a public community college, which makes it possible to offer the same high-quality education but with lower tuition costs, and provide scholarships and financial assistance for anyone that qualifies.
All of our faculty members are working professionals with valuable real-world experience, who are personally familiar with all of the industry requirements. Each member brings both realistic expectations and considerable first-hand knowledge to the classroom setting. We maintain constant contact with the industry, both through our alumni and our advisory committees. In doing so, annual updates on our curriculum are made possible, in response to any changes in the fashion industry, which allows us to keep up to date with the modern day world.
