Cooper Union
The School of Art at The Cooper Union offers a broad-based arts education culminating in a BFA that prepares students to enter the constantly evolving professional world with a wide range of skills and experiences. Graduates are not only possess a solid arts education but are also trained to be flexible, versatile, inventive, and insightful.
Students enrolled in the BFA program at The Cooper Union complete a course of study that incorporates all of the fundamental disciplines and resources of the visual arts. Emphasis is placed on the interrelatedness of each discipline. In addition to art history and general studies, students complete hands-on studio coursework and theoretical studies. The overall curriculum is designed to elicit critical perspective, technical proficiency, and intellectual awareness of people and societies.
