GRAPHIC DESIGN PROGRAM

Graphic designs are all around you, including on the box of your favorite cereal, designs on your snowboard, or the graphic logo that appears on your tennis shoes. Graphic Design today includes not only the traditional careers in the field of Graphic Design but also the newer career paths in areas often referred to as New Media. Matching text and pictures to identify, to sell, or to move an audience is a discipline older than history and newer than today's headlines.

The Bachelor of Arts Degree is an accelerated program that can be completed in a minimum of three years. Not only did computers replace the typewriter, they replaced the pencil too. The computer is described in this course as a mechanical illustration tool. Students have the opportunity to use vector-based graphic and ancillary software programs to create charts, logos and electronic illustrations. Emphasis will be laid on prepress requirements, which will include intermediate concepts for dimensional graphics, as related to prepress considerations. This class will ready students for a career in electronic or printed media.
