Delaware College of Art and Design
The Delaware College of Art and Design is committed to training graphic designers to apply their artistic talents to the resolution of visual communications problems. In achieving this objective, the graphic design program provides students with a rigorous design foundation and the tools needed to apply that knowledge to the creation of effective graphic design.
Students are instructed in both traditional design concepts and the latest technological developments. Upon graduation, students have a professional portfolio of work and the skills to either pursue a career in graphic design or apply to an advanced program.
The graphic design curriculum at the Delaware College of Art and Design offers students a firm grounding in design principles through courses in design history, design theories and methodologies, and practical design techniques. Under the guidance of a faculty composed of professional designers and design educators, students learn to create effective visual communication while simultaneously discovering and enhancing their own personal style and interests.
Hands-on experience is gained through client-sponsored projects and interaction with graphic design professionals in the local community.
Graduates of the Delaware College of Art and Design find work in a variety of settings including design studios, advertising agencies, corporate design departments, or as freelancers.
