Mount Ida College

The School of Design at Mount Ida College offers bachelor and associate degree programs that shape students into innovative graphic designers. At Mount Ida, hands-on learning focuses on building traditional design skills and mastering new technology.

In small classes, students explore the elements of digital production and the characteristics and applications of typefaces and grid systems in Macintosh labs. The first year targets basic art foundation and graphic design, and students start designing on the computer right away. Applications include industry-standards such as QuarkXPress, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as well as a wide range of animation, multimedia and Web design software and interactive media.

The basis for every program at Mount Ida is a core design and art foundation curriculum complemented by strong liberal arts courses, with an emphasis on practical applications that develop skills to turn students into competent design professionals, ready for the industry.

Mount Ida graduates get a head start on competitive careers through ample technological and design skills experience. The Mount Ida design programs are accredited by NASAD, the principle professional organization for design schools.
