There is an emphasis on finding connections among the art disciplines and building solid foundations in current theories and new technologies in the visual arts. The university has made a commitment to excellent instruction that values knowledge for itself, as a means to a successful career and as a building block for personal fulfillment.

A challenging, intensive studio-based program, the Graphic Design curriculum pushes students to explore interdisciplinary options within the context of design theory and history. Projects encompass a wide range of ideologies, technologies and media so that students come away with a broad understanding, and coop experiences combine the real-world with the classroom. Senior year classes focus on independent research projects.
