Ohio Institute of Photography (OIP) has maintained its status as being a specialized and innovative photographic training center since its establishment in 1971.

  • In just more than three years later, Ohio Institute of Photography moved to downtown Dayton to meet the needs of a rapidly growing student body and additional space.
  • OIP changed its name to Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology (OIP&T) in 1991 as a result of the demand for highly trained individuals.
  • OIP&T was bought by Educational Medical, Inc. in July of 1993.
  • In 1994 a program of medical assisting followed. Our curriculum now offers professional imaging technology and desktop media.
  • The medical office management program was included in 1995.
  • In September of 1998 the parent company EMI became known as Quest Education Corporation.
  • In July 2000, Kaplin, Inc. purchased Quest.
  • Kaplan Higher Education Corporation is the name Quest adopted in December 2002. Kaplan is committed to providing the same terrific education for which OIP&T is recognized.

The graphic design program at OIP&T's objectives are to train you in the areas of design, illustration, and digital and multimedia preparation of printed and electronic materials. Education available is comprised of introductory to drawing and composition (these skills are key to design layout) and computer graphics presentation; the projects you produce will be portfolio-quality. You will also have the opportunity to improve your interpersonal and communication skills, expand your artistic and conceptual talents, and develop a basic understanding of business ethics and marketing principles.
