A degree program was developed and organized for the students who are planning to begin their careers with CAD software immediately after graduation, the degree program in Computer-Aided Design Technology (CAD). Students are receiving individual instruction, if required, allowing the program to provide the comprehensive skills and knowledge necessary for the development of accurate computer-aided graphics, design and drafting applications.
Emphasis is strongly placed on the use of CAD applications such as AutoCAD, Architectural Desktop, and Micro station coupled with graphic theory and the related fundamentals of technical design.
After completion of the program, the student will be able to convert drawing sketches and concepts into detailed drawings, 3D drawings, orthographic projections and floor plan assembly drawings.
Among the positions available to graduates of the CAD Technology program are:
- CAD designer
- CAD coordinator
- CAD operator
- CAD manager
- CAD technician
- Design draftsperson
- Technical sales
- CAD instructors
