Rochester Institute Of Technology

The School of Design at Rochester Institute of Technology offers a Graphic Design program based on the belief that successful design must communicate. Students are encouraged to create a visual vocabulary that is aesthetic, effective, and informative.

Graphic design students at Rochester Institute of Technology combine technology and theory to communicate ideas through print, web, interactive, and digital media. Students learn to use design tools including typography, imagery, visual movement, and sounds to complete projects including publication and print design, signage, corporate identity, interactive media, packaging, environment design, and information design. Skills of research, creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving are developed and refined in order to generate design projects within time, budget, space, and technology constraints.

The educational environment in the graphic design program is one of dynamism and creativity, with both faculty and students joining together to explore issues of aesthetics, creativity, professionalism, cross-disciplinary studies, problem solving, and social responsiblity.
