East Valley Institute of Technology
The East Valley Institute of Technology is based on the idea that imaginative high school students can get started on a career as soon as they enter the classroom. Students with a knack for color coordination and design will study the principles and elements of design, produce color boards and develop a portfolio that illustrate fabrics, furnishings and floor coverings - and that's only the beginning. Students also visit interior design centers and companies related to the design field. In the second year, qualified students shadow professional designers and complete an internship. The EVIT two-year interior design program gives students the thorough preparation they need to land employment in a variety of design occupations, with opportunities to design for businesses, hotels, hospitals and homes.
