The Art Center Design College-Tucson
Future designers with a aptitude for aesthetics and function and a sharp eye for detail will find that the Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design at The Art Center prepares them for positions in interior design and architectural firms, or in residential and commercial design. Students learn how to plan spaces, design furniture, and use textiles, color, lighting and fabrics to improve interiors and thus, the quality of life and productivity of the people who live and work in them. These up-and-coming designers will develop the necessary problem solving skills to create environments that are healthy and safe. Students progress through a series of courses: fundamentals such as rendering, drafting and color theory; advanced practical projects such as environmental and hospitality design, and special needs; and residential and commercial space design. To complement the curriculum, students take part in field trips, meet with guest lecturers and complete a senior internship to gain real-world skills. Students graduate with a portfolio that shows their capacity for creativity and their practical skills. The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design at the Main Campus in Tucson, is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.
