The faculty and staff at American River College in Sacramento have made a firm commitment to provide top-flight academic and artistic programs for a wide range of students. For students wishing to enter the dynamic field of interior design, the Interior Design Associate in Arts (A.A.) at ARC offers a comprehensive curriculum, focusing on topics such as space planning, reading construction documents, building and life-safety codes and the American Disabilities Act, and architectural and furniture history, to name just a few. Additionally, students will complete an industry internship which will open doors to a variety of career options in residential design, such as kitchen and bath design specialist, home office design, or transgenerational design, or in commercial design, namely space planning, set design, hospitality design, or historical and adaptive re-use design.
