Long Beach City College
At Long Beach City College, students who choose the Interior Design Program embark on a practical, career-centered approach to learning about design. They will become interior designers who are skillful in improving quality of life though design, increasing productivity and protecting the safety, health and welfare of the public. Students work with instructors are also practicing designers and architects whose current work experience informs their classes and interactions with students. They also have access to guest speakers, field trips and competitions. One of the specific goals of the program is to prepare students for an interior design internship and the NCIDQ examination. Graduates may specialize in Residential Design, Contract Design, Space Planning, or Hospitality, to name just a few areas of expertise. The Long Beach City College program AA Degree in interior design prepares students to work or to go to pursue a four-year interior design degree. A Program certificate in interior design technical skills is also available.
