Ohlone College
Ohlone's College's Interior Design program, which integrates Interior Design with Fine and Decorative Art and Architecture, aims to give students the fundamental skills needed to enter the field of design and to train them to take on entry-level positions of responsibility. For those professionals already employed in the design field, the program provides options to hone design skills and knowledge, or to sharpen existing skills with the goal of launching a new career. Coursework focuses on design as problem solving, and relies on both theoretical and practical applications of design. Students have two options: a Certificate of Achievement in Interior Design or the two-year Associate of Arts degree which requires the completion of general education courses and electives. Students who elect the A.A. degree obtain the needed skills for an entry-level position but also the option of continuing on to a four-year degree. Additional options are the fast-track Certificates of Completion in the Basics of Interior Design, Interior Design Communications and Interior Design Technology.
