Santa Barbara City College
Under the umbrella of the Drafting/CAD department, the Interior Design Program at Santa Barbara City College offers complete vocational preparation for entry-level interior design jobs. Certified instructors with diverse professional experience teach every course. Coursework centering on Interior Design, Drafting, Art History and Art leads to a Certificate of Completion in Interior Design, and students who successfully complete ID coursework receive full college credit. Those who complement the design curriculum with institutional and general education requirements can go on to earn an Associate in Arts in Interior Design. There is an open enrollment policy, but many courses have co-requisites. Each year the program nominates an "Outstanding Student" based on his or her academic work and service to the institution.
