University of Bridgeport
The University of Bridgeport offers a Bachelor's Degree in Interior design that is geared towards providing students with the necessary experience to pass the NCIDQ exam and obtain a license in the state of Connecticut. The department provides interior design services, allowing students to gain actual experience. The program centers on techniques for collecting design information and for solving both residential and non-residential design issues. Students learn technical skills that enable them to convey design solutions in a variety of ways: traditional sketching and drafting; AutoCAD; and 3D computer simulation. Additionally, students gain knowledge of interior architectural substructures, material usage and installation methods. Bridgeport students can take advantage of furniture design studios, the fruit of a collaboration with the UB Industrial Design department, as well as seminars and lectures given by nationally and internationally-known guest professors and professionals.
