The major interior design associations of North America, including the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), and the Foundation for Interior Design Education and Research (FIDER), endorse the following definition of the interior designer: The professional interior designer is qualified by education, experience, and examination to improve the function and quality of interior spaces for the purpose of raising the quality of life, increasing productivity, and protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public.

Bauder College uses creative and technical processes used by professionals to introduce the terminal program of interior design. By learning the language of design using industry-recognized visual communications tools, strategic planning, and creative problem-solving techniques, students can effectively communicate with clients and venders alike.

We strive to accomplish the preparation of graduates for entry-level positions in interior design and related fields, including:

  • Residential and commercial design assistant
  • Home furnishings coordinator

  • Model home merchandiser
  • CADD operator

Degree holders from our program in interior design also have employment opportunities in both the retail and wholesale side as manufacturers' representatives, showroom personnel, and furniture sales.
