Indiana University-Bloomington offers both a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a Master of Science in Interior Design. The four-year B.S. requires 122 credit hours for graduation. Transfers are permitted. The M.S. focuses on the promotion of critical thinking and data evaluation. Students are encouraged to investigate both traditional and experimental design methods, and to work closely with faculty members to create specialized programs that are reflective of their individual objectives and interests. Faculty members conduct research in the following fields: education, behavior, history, methodology, criticism, perception, process, practice, and theory.
