Not only have UK graduates been recognized nationally, but also the program itself has been ranked among the Top 40 Picks by editors at DesignIntelligence magazine. This recognition stems from the fact that this challenging program pushes students to take part in the intellectual, social, and cultural development of design theory, research, and application. Coursework is based on problem-solving, technical skill-building, design and management. Students follow sequential studio courses that hone design and teamwork skills while taking classes in other fields, such as art, digital media, architecture, landscape architecture and business. The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design is a five-year program comprised of pre-major and major courses. Upon graduation, students can pursue professional registration. The Masters of Arts Degree is a flexible two-year program that moves students to the expert level and serves to establish them as respected professionals. Recent graduate students have explored: Sustainable Design; Design for an Aging Population; Historic Interiors & Preservation ; Lighting Design; and Programming.
