At Massachusetts Bass Community College, students have the opportunity to explore the field of interior design in student-centered classes taught by dedicated faculty members with strong credentials. Mass Bay is known for its student support services that ensure students reach their educational objectives. In the Interior Design Certificate Program, students are trained to apply the principles of design in order to reshape environments so that people can live and work more comfortably and more productively. Students learn how to arrange spaces and choose furnishings that meet this goal, either for individual rooms or whole buildings. Classes focus on space planning, building codes, current products, design materials, color, the history and decorative arts, and graphic and oral presentation skills. The interior design industry is growing, and the career forecast - whether it's a position at a design firm or as a self-employed designer - is bright. Students have the option to go on to pursue an Associate's Degree.
