Mount Ida College
The School of Design at Mount Ida College fosters individual creativity and encourages professional and intellectual growth through its strong liberal arts education, art foundation and core design courses. Students benefit from the small class sizes, hands-on approach and focus on building artistic and technical skills that place this CIDA-accredited the degree program among New England's foremost design programs. Access to up-to-date computer labs and the campus art gallery keeps students abreast of industry happenings and fully prepared for a design career. The curriculum, with its emphasis on studios, turns students into skilled designers capable of transforming the quality of life and work through the design of interiors. Students explore the various facets of residential, retail, office, and hospitality interior design and learn techniques to understand the needs of clients and develop and present ideas with the principle elements of form, space, light and color. Keeping versatility in mind, students become CAD and AutoCAD experts at the same time they master traditional drawing skills. NASAD, the primary professional organization for design schools, has accredited the program as well.
