Adrian College

Adrian College offers a wide variety of courses which help prepare its students for success in designing interior environments. To this end, Adrian has structured its degree program based on the guidelines of the Council for Interior Design. While students develop skills in technical drafting, rendering and building construction, they also engage in liberal arts studies so as to produce highly qualified graduates who not only excel technically, but also can clearly express their creative concepts and ideas. Adrian requires students to create professional portfolio of projects completed in classes which they will later be able to use in job interviews. First hand opportunities to explore the world of interior design are also an essential part of the Adrian experience. For this reason, trips to Chicago are organized to visit the Merchandise Mart, the Art Institute of Chicago, various trade shows, architectural walking tours and career days. Additionally, students are required to participate in an internship with an interior design or architecture firm in order to apply skills learned in classes, gain hands-on exposure to the world of interior design, and ensure that their students are fully prepared to enter the professional sphere. Students are able to gain international experience through the semester study abroad opportunities offered at the American College in London, England and between their junior and senior years, students may study at the American International University in London.
