Oakland Community College
Oakland Community College is Michigan's largest community college and, with one of the highest transfer rates in the state, is one of the state's most prestigious schools. OCC offers a wide range of programs taught by a highly qualified staff-over 93% have advanced degrees and 19% have doctorates. In the Interior Design program, students earn an associate degree in applied science. The courses emphasize both the creative and practical aspects of interior design and, as such, students gain experience selecting the fabrics, furnishings, lights, and wall and floor coverings while developing business skills such as calculating cost estimates and preparing presentations. Students also have cutting-edge digital imaging software at the disposal allowing them to create and quality design projects and preparing them to enter the high tech design world of the 21st century.
