Meredith College
Meredith college offers the only accredited interior design program in the Research Triangle, and this, couples with the myriad possibilities for internships, jobs, access to guest lecturers, and field trip, makes the Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design the right choice for students planning to pursue careers in residential, commercial, and institutional design. The focus at Meredith in on preparation for professional practice, and to achieve this goal, students are trained in such a way that they will become creative, critical thinkers and expert problem solvers. Coursework centers on space planning, computer-aided design, programming, and methods of presentation. Internships, a mentorship program with local experts, design workshops, and membership in the ASID student chapter are further opportunities for creative growth. The program is located in the newly-renovated Martin Hall, with two interior design studios, one CAD studio, a plotter room, and a resource room.
