Queens University of Charlotte

Since 2001, Queens has offered students the opportunity to combine function and beauty in interior design. The bachelor's degree requires 120 credit hours, with general education courses, 31 credits in the major, and 6 elective credits. At Queens, interior design is approach from an interdisciplinary point of view, and draws on art, art history, business, technology, math, and science. Key components include a traditional liberal arts environment, international study, and an in-depth internship. Students will learn to assess their clients' requirements and goals, and then draw on their own skills and knowledge to create interior design concepts that fulfill those needs both functionally and aesthetically, while keeping in mind environmental and budget concerns. This degree opens doors to many career opportunities, like residential interior design, office, restaurant, medical facilities, hotel, retail, and theatre design, fabric & textile design, furniture industry, sales, marketing, publishing and photography. Employers are looking for real-world experience when they hire, and the Queens Internship Program gives students this leg up by placing them in dynamic professional environments. Additionally, students travel to Europe to learn about the history of furniture and manufacturing, all the while being exposed to new culture and art. Queens Interior Design is a complete preparation for success in the interior design field.
