Randolph Community College in Asheboro, North Carolina, prepares students for myriad job opportunities in the both residential and nonresidential interior design through its Associate's Degree. Graduates of the Randolph program go on to work in the following areas: residential and commercial interior design; showroom design; set design; and in sales positions sales for furniture, textiles and accessories. Students are successful in their job search because of the strong technical, aesthetic and business foundation that they receive. By studying residential and nonresidential interior design, computer-aided design, architectural drafting, and universal design, as well as basic design, color theory, interiors and furnishings, history of products, graphic presentations and general educational courses, students receive an education that is well-round and in-depth at the same time. Those with a deeper interest in technical drawing can pursue a certificate in Computer-Aided Drafting. This preparation opens many career doors, for example, in manufacturing and service industries, furniture, architecture, engineering and related fields.
