UNC-Greensboro's Department of Interior Architecture (IARC) brings together students and faculty members who desire to take their designs beyond the traditional concepts of space and interiors. Students can take part award-winning design studios at IARC and participate in design discourse from the regional to the international level. Two degrees are offered: a five-year professional Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture degree, which requires 142 credit hours, with 93 credits in the Interior Architecture major, and a post-professional Master of Science in Interior Architecture degree, with possibilities to focus on museum studies, historic preservation, and interior product design. In conjunction with the History Department, the IARC department offers collaborative Post-Baccalaureate Certificates in Historic Preservation and Museum Studies. Graduate students must write a thesis and complete a minimum of one interior architecture studio.
