Cuyahoga Community College District

Cuyahoga Community College offers an open admission two-year degree program culminating in an Associate of Applied Business degree. During the first year, students receive foundation courses in architecture, art, drawing and design, AutoCAD, and a beginning lecture in interior design. In the second year, the curriculum focuses on studio classes in residential and commercial interiors, lighting, history of interiors, materials and sources, textiles, presentation, salesmanship and professional practices, architectural materials and methods, and the all-important field experience in an architectural firm, design studio, commercial space planning group, retail store, or showroom kitchen design center. Students participate in the American Society of Interior Design (ASID) Student Chapter, take part in field trips, community service projects and fundraisers and have the opportunity to interact with guest speakers. Students can make the most of Tri-C's location an visit the Ohio Design Centre and The Cleveland Museum of Art. On an annual basis, students visit the NEOCON conference in Chicago, Fallingwater, and the ASID Sourcery event. Job placement assistance, practicum positions and professional opportunities abound.
