Baylor University
Baylor University offers a liberals arts based, interior design curriculum with the objective of giving students an superior undergraduate experience in a Christian setting. The environment in which they study and their interactions with the Baylor faculty serve to engrain in them the importance of designing interiors with the health, safety, and well-being of others in mind. This comes from a solid foundation of knowledge, experience, and problem-solving during the first two years. Students are urged to express their creativity in the third and fourth years of the program, and are given the chance for a behind-the-scenes experience if they choose to pursue design-related study abroad courses in Europe. Students complete supervised internships in residential, commercial, or a specialty areas, and receive the properly-sequenced training to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification, the qualifying exam which leads to interior design certification and prepares them for licensure.
