Northern Virginia Community College
Students who plan to pursue an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Interior Design, either part-time or full-time, can do so at Northern Virginia Community College, a comprehensive, open-access community college. Course work covers all facets of the interior design field, rangers for the history of art and furniture to basic design to computer-aided drafting, rendering, and professional practices. Students learn about contract and residential design, and are fully prepared for careers in a variety of fields, such as space planners, technical support staff, and drafters in commercial design firms; and in retail marketing of fabrics, furniture, and accessories. Full-time students complete the degree in two years.
