Tidewater Community College
The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree at Tidewater Community College centers on interior design foundation skills and knowledge: spatial design, color coordination, the evolution of furniture and interior styles, budget estimation, and visual presentation skills. Students take specific courses in their major as well as general education courses, and course work is fully customizable depending on a student's choice of electives. TCC graduates go on to work in businesses that deal in floor coverings, visual merchandising, decorative accessories, and home furnishings, as well as for commercial designers, architectural firms, or retailers. Some open their own design businesses.
