Clover Park Technical College
Clover Park Technical College trains future interior designers to work alongside other designer, in home furnishings retail, and with architects, contractors, and builders. Students learn to design for residential, commercial and public spaces, and acquire in-depth knowledge of fixtures, wall coverings, window treatments, furnishings, and color schemes. Special attention is paid to understanding building codes, installation procedures and merchandising, as well as using CAD, sketching, creating color and material board, and making presentations. Along the way students pull together a portfolio representative of their style and skills. This leads to an Associate in Applied Science Degree. The 2,154-hour course takes about six quarters to complete.
